What this is

AI is a conversation with an assistant that can do things in Rivr for you.

It never acts on its own. Every action it proposes is a card you either confirm or cancel.

What you see

The header names the chat. Beneath it sits the name of the model in use, or the word Processing while it is thinking.

Before you write anything, the page invites you to start a conversation, and explains that you can ask it anything or use it to create posts, manage your profile and work with Rivr through conversation.

A box at the bottom invites you to write a message. You can write up to four thousand characters. A counter appears once you are close to that.

Along the header run five controls: a thread list, a new thread, a microphone, a speaker for reading replies aloud, and settings.

The thread list is headed Conversations with a count, and carries a New button.

Settings holds the model choice, a note about the credential the chat runs on, and a switch for voice replies.

When the assistant proposes an action, it appears as a card naming the action and listing what it would do. The card carries a Confirm button and a Cancel button, and afterwards says whether the action completed, failed or was cancelled.

How to

Start a conversation

1. Open AI under Tools.
2. Write in the box at the bottom.
3. Press the send control.
4. Press the new thread control in the header to start a fresh conversation.

Confirm an action

1. Ask the assistant to do something, such as write a post.
2. Read the card it proposes. It names the action and lists every value it would use.
3. Press Confirm to let it run, or Cancel to stop it.
4. The card then says the action completed, or failed, or was cancelled.

The actions it can propose are: creating a post, creating a live invitation, updating your profile, reading your profile, joining or leaving a group, answering an event invitation, adding to a transcript, sending Thanks, listing your personas, reading the instance context, and reading your recent activity log.

Talk instead of type

1. Press the microphone in the header, or the one beside the writing box.
2. A banner says it is listening. Speak.
3. Press Cancel on the banner to stop.
4. Press the speaker in the header to have replies read back to you.

If your browser has blocked the microphone, a banner says so and offers to ask again.

Change the model

1. Press the settings control in the header.
2. Choose from the list under Model.
3. Switch on voice replies if you want them read aloud.

What changes for you

You must be signed in to reach this page.

There is a second page that shows the assistant's own state. It has four tabs: Status, Personas, Activity and Chat. Status shows this instance's identity and whether its connections are configured. Activity is a log of every tool the assistant has run, filterable by who ran it.

The chat runs on the organization's own credential. Each saved conversation keeps its context across follow-up messages.

The conversation shown on screen holds the most recent forty messages.
