Profile

Your own page in Rivr, holding who you are, what you offer, what you are going to, and the parts only you can see.

What this is

Your profile is your page. It holds your name, your picture, your bio, your skills, the languages you speak and the places you belong to.

Somebody else's profile holds the same things, minus the parts that are yours alone.

What you see

At the top, a cover image, your picture, your name and your handle. Your own profile carries an Edit Profile button and controls for changing the cover image and the picture. Somebody else's carries a Give button, a Message button and a moderation menu.

The narrow left column holds About, Skills and expertise, Languages, and Relationships.

The wide middle column holds Upcoming events, Recent posts, Thanks received, Groups and Offerings.

The narrow right column holds Quick stats, Links and Personas.

Your own profile adds seven more panels to the middle column that nobody else sees: Manage personas, Membership, Calendar, Wallet, Docs, Saved and Activity.

The page header carries Add widget and Reset layout. Everything else about a panel is on the panel itself.

Personas in the right column is a reading card. It lists whichever of these you have filled in: Gene Keys, Human Design, Western Astrology, Vedic Astrology, OCEAN, Myers-Briggs and Enneagram.

Manage personas in the middle column is something different. It is where you create the alternate identities you can post under.

How to

Open your profile

1. Press Profile under Manage.
2. Your page opens.

You can also press your picture in the bar at the top and choose your profile from the menu.

Edit your profile

1. Open your profile.
2. Press Edit Profile at the top.
3. Settings opens on the Account tab.
4. Change your Name, Username, Tagline, Bio, Skills, photos and readings.
5. Press Save Changes at the bottom.

Hide part of your profile

1. Open Settings under Account.
2. Press the Privacy tab.
3. Find the card headed Profile Tab Visibility.
4. Set each part to Public, Connections, Only Me or Hidden.
5. Save.

The parts you can set are About, Posts, Thanks, Events, Groups, Photos and Offerings. Every one of them starts Public.

Create a persona

1. Open your profile.
2. Find the Manage personas panel.
3. Press the control that opens Create Persona.
4. Fill in the name, and a handle and a description if you want them.
5. Press Create.

What changes for you

Only you see Manage personas, Membership, Calendar, Wallet, Docs, Saved and Activity. They are not hidden from others by a setting. They are not drawn at all.

Give and the moderation menu do not appear on your own profile.

If you are looking at a persona rather than a person, a small chip beside the name says so.

Every part of your profile starts Public. You opt into restriction, never out of it by accident.

If your account is homed on another instance, opening your profile takes you there.
