Members and roles
Who belongs to a group, who steers it, and what each of them can do that the others cannot.
What this is
A group has members. Some of its members are admins.
Being an admin is what unlocks the settings, the treasury, the job board's posting controls and the subgroup tree's create button.
What you see
The Members tab lists everyone in the group, with the count above them.
If you are an admin, a second panel appears beneath the list for promoting and demoting people.
The About tab carries a card headed Leadership. It names the founder, and shows one badge for each admin. When no founder is recorded it says so.
The About tab also carries a card headed Group Stats, with lines counting members, posts, events and what the group holds.

How to
See who is in a group
- Open the group.
- Press the Members tab.
- Read the count above the list.
- Press a person to open their profile.
Make somebody an admin
- Open the group.
- Press the Members tab.
- Find the admin panel beneath the list. It appears only if you are already an admin.
- Find the person and promote them.
See who leads a group
- Open the group.
- Stay on the About tab.
- Read the card headed Leadership. The founder is named first, then a badge for each admin.
What changes for you
A member can read the members-only tabs, post in the feed, add a listing to the group's market, and use the group's chat.
An admin can do all of that plus open Group Settings, open the Treasury tab, manage membership plans, create a subgroup, add a relationship, post a job, promote and demote members, moderate posts in the feed, and switch the documents view to its filesystem.
Allocating profit shares on the Stake tab is open to admins and to the group's board members.
Creating an event, and editing the Needs list under Stock, are open to admins and, when the group allows members to post, to members.
Somebody who is not a member sees only the tabs an admin left public, and never the Treasury tab.
