Global Hub
Every place at once, with the global feed, a wide map and the same panels a place hub carries.
Where this lives: My Places > Global Hub
What this is
The Global Hub is a place hub with no place. It shows every place at once.
It is also the front door for anyone who is not signed in.
What you see
The title reads Global Hub. Above it sits the line: every locale, every bioregion.
If you are signed in you are greeted by name, with a pill asking what you want to share with the whole network.
The wide middle column holds the Global feed. It carries the same six tabs a local feed does: Posts, Events, Groups, People, Gigs and Mart.
The narrow left column holds High activity listings.
The narrow right column holds Happening right now, Local ads and Local good news, at the widest scope.
There is no panel describing where this is, because the Global Hub is not one place.
The map is centred on your own place, pulled far enough back to take in a continent.
What you can do here
- Open it from anywhere. See Open the Global Hub.
- Read what the whole network is posting. See Read the global feed.
- Join a place. See Find a place to join.
How to
Open the Global Hub
- Look at My Places in the menu on the left.
- Press Global Hub, which sits at the bottom of that list.
- The page opens.
Read the global feed
- Open the Global Hub.
- Find the Global feed panel in the middle.
- Press one of its six tabs to narrow it.
- Scroll inside the panel. More items load as you reach the bottom.
Find a place to join
- Open the Global Hub.
- Press Places in the breadcrumb at the top.
- Read the panel headed Explore Places. It lists every place you have not joined.
- Press one to open it.
If every place on this deployment is already yours, that panel says so.
What changes for you
Anyone can open the Global Hub, signed in or not.
A signed-out visitor gets no greeting and no sharing pill.
The Global Hub and a place hub share one arrangement. Moving a panel on one moves it on the other.
Where this connects
- A place hub is the same page narrowed to one place.
- Choosing your places explains the pill in the top bar.
- Explore is the same world as pictures and as a graph.
