What this is

Settings is everything about your account that is not on a page of its own.

It is eight tabs. Most people only ever need the first three.

What you see

Eight tabs across the top: Account, Privacy, Notifications, Appearance, Connectors, Assistant, Seller and Federation.

Account holds your Name, Username, Email, Phone, Tagline and Bio, then Home Locale, then your 3D home, then Social Links, Skills, Profile Photos and your 3D avatar. Below those sits a block headed Persona and Personal Info, with fields for Gene Keys, Human Design, Western Astrology, Vedic Astrology, OCEAN, Myers-Briggs and Enneagram. A Save Changes button sits at the bottom, with the account danger zone below it.

Privacy holds two cards. The first controls who can see your profile information, your transactions and your activity. The second, headed Profile Tab Visibility, sets each part of your profile to Public, Connections, Only Me or Hidden.

Notifications holds exactly two switches. Email Notifications, and Publish to Murmurations, which lists your profile in a public directory of regenerative projects.

Appearance holds one switch, Dark Mode.

Connectors holds four panels: your connected accounts, the feeds you follow, an archive import, and messenger bridges.

Assistant holds the credential the assistant runs on and the assistant's own settings.

Seller holds your membership and your payout account.

Federation controls whether this account can send content to trusted peers.

What you can do here

• Change your details. See Edit your account details.
• Decide what others see. See Change who can see what.
• Switch the look of the hub. See Switch between light and dark.
• Sign out. See Log out.

How to

Edit your account details

1. Open Settings under Account.
2. Stay on the Account tab.
3. Change any field you want.
4. Set Home Locale to the place the weather and the feeds should fall back to.
5. Press Save Changes at the bottom.

Change who can see what

1. Open Settings under Account.
2. Press the Privacy tab.
3. Work through the first card, which controls your profile information, your transactions and your activity.
4. Find the card headed Profile Tab Visibility.
5. Set each part of your profile to Public, Connections, Only Me or Hidden.
6. Save.

Switch between light and dark

1. Press the sun or moon in the bar at the top. This is the fastest way.
2. Or open Settings under Account, press the Appearance tab, and use the Dark Mode switch.

Log out

1. Press Log out at the bottom of the Account section in the menu on the left.
2. You are signed out and returned to the public front page.

You can also press your picture in the bar at the top and log out from the menu that opens.

What changes for you

You must be signed in to reach Settings.

There are two more settings pages that are not tabs here. One sets the tax details a payout needs. The other sets the outgoing email identity, and only an instance admin can reach it.

Email for signing up, resetting a password and recovering an account is always sent by the identity authority, whatever the outgoing email page says.

Every part of your profile starts Public. You opt into restriction, never out of it by accident.

The Connections level on your profile means your connections only. The Members and Admin levels belong to groups, not to a person, so they are not offered here.
