Money
Your wallet, getting paid, the orders you placed and received, your receipts, your payouts, and how a group's money differs from yours.
What this is
Rivr moves several different things that all feel like money.
Ordinary money, held in your wallet or in a connected account. Thanks, which is a token people give each other. Points, which record contribution. Vouchers, which hold Thanks until they are redeemed. And profit shares, which some groups allocate from their own figures.
This page is the map of all of it.
What you see
Your Wallet gathers the money side. Three tiles across the top of it read Rivr, Integrated and Crypto. The Rivr tile counts your Thanks. The Integrated tile shows money. The Crypto tile counts the addresses you have linked.
Your profile carries a Wallet panel with the same balances, four sub-tabs reading Transactions, Purchases, Sales and Taxes, and the controls for adding money, sending money and taking a payout.
Money you spent appears under Marketplace, on the Ordered tab, and on your profile's purchases page.
Money you earned appears under Listings, on the Sales tab, and under Wallet, on the Sales tab.
A receipt is a page of its own. It lists the status, the date, the booked window when there is one, the subtotal, the fees, any sales tax and the total.
A group's money is a different pocket entirely, behind the Treasury tab on that group's page, and only its admins can open it.
What you can do here
- Look at your balances. See See what you have.
- Get ready to receive money. See Get set up to be paid.
- Open the record of a purchase. See Find a receipt.
- Ask a seller to return it. See Ask for your money back.
How to
See what you have
- Open Wallet under Manage.
- Read the three tiles at the top.
- Read Wallets below them for one row per wallet.
- Read This window for what went in and out over the transactions loaded.
Get set up to be paid
- Open your profile.
- Find the Wallet panel.
- Press Set Up Payout Account.
- Give the payment provider what it asks for.
- Come back. The panel now shows whether charges, payouts and details are in order.
- Fill in your tax details from Support if your payout needs them.
Find a receipt
- Open Marketplace under Manage and press the Ordered tab, or open your profile's purchases page.
- Find the purchase.
- Press View receipt.
- The receipt opens with its totals, its status and its payment details.
Your own sales have receipts too. They sit under Listings, on the Receipts tab.
Ask for your money back
- Open the receipt.
- Find the card headed Need a refund. It appears only on a completed purchase paid by card or by wallet.
- Read what it says. A wallet purchase returns the amount, the fees and any sales tax to your wallet. A card purchase goes back through the card and the seller is told.
- Press Request Refund.
- The card changes to say the refund was requested.
What changes for you
You must be signed in to have a wallet at all. A wallet is created for you on your first transaction.
Selling with a card needs a Seller membership or higher and a connected payout account.
When you buy, the order summary lists the platform fee and any sales tax as amounts before you pay. Rivr prints those amounts rather than a rate.
There are two payout routes out of a connected account. One goes to your bank over a few days. The other is instant, and is offered only when your account supports it.
Money held back from a sale can be released early, and the control says what releasing early costs before you press it.
A volunteer job pays in a Thanks voucher rather than cash.
A group's treasury is not your money. It belongs to the group, its balance is separate, and only the group's admins can see or move it.
A group's profit-share percentages are set by that group from its own contribution figures. They are not a Rivr-wide rule.
Where this connects
- Wallet is the page your own money lives on.
- Marketplace is what you bought, and Listings is what you sold.
- A group's treasury is the group's money.
